Ann Tango-Schurmann

 I have been a freelance Artist for the past 20 plus years.

After graduating from the School Of Visual Arts in 1980, I became a storyboard artist at a major NY advertising agency.  I then went on to join a Marketing firm in NJ as an Art Director before deciding to stay home to raise my sons. Thus I began my illustration career.

My past works include various children's book illustrations along with character designs and logos for various marketing media.

I also taught art to Pre-K through 8th grade for 5 years in the local Catholic School. I enjoyed working with the kids and found the experience to be very rewarding.

I recently relocated to South Carolina from New Jersey, and am still getting used to the slower pace of southern living. But, because of my NYC work background, I have learned to work quickly and understand that in this business, everything is due yesterday:)  I also have the ability to work with minimal direction (usually over the phone or via email) and have no problem offering ideas or suggestions on a project. I feel that my characters for instance,offer a fresh look and convey a given emotion because other than scanning & prepping work for final art, my drawings are done by hand and perhaps simply'colored' and tweaked via computer for a final 'clean' look.
